Project Description

SIRIUS – MODERN TECHNOLOGY FOR RAILWAY 4.0

  • a fully distributed modular platform
  • fibre-optic communications
  • magistral supply 400V DC
  • object-oriented unit-built system for station-level, route-level and other interlocking devices
  • object controllers (OC) for each type of outdoor component (switches, signals, track circuits, detection points of axle counters, level crossings or gates)
  • centralized or decentralized design
  • kernel with CPU ARM Cortex, hot standby 2×2 from 2
  • versatile single-threaded operating system STARMOS for all the safety-relevant components (CPU, OC)
  • bus Ethernet, CAN, RS-485

WHY TO DEPLOY SIRIUS

  • a modern, object-oriented, distributed safety device
  • designed using state-of-the-art electronic components with a high degree of reliability
  • significant decreases on power consumption
  • moderately sized – lower costs for both the cabling and engineering works
  • high system availability due to hot-standby and redundancy design
  • fast and cost-efficient design of the interlocking and also the engineering documentation

FEATURES AND COMPONENTS OF SIRIUS PLATFORM

  • OCcpu – technologic computer, two-channel decision 2 of 2
  • RS-422 line for communication with the hot standby
  • configuration for up to 200 object controllers (OC), commanded from the technologic computer
  • optional line configuration of the CPUs under a single controlling computer
  • NDC – data concentrator (either in the relay rack, or in the field)
  • ER1 – Ethernet router
  • OS1 – safe Ethernet network separator (SIL 4 certified)

OBJECT CONTROLLERS FOR THE OUTDOOR COMPONENTS

  • OCi – object controller for 16 contact inputs
  • OCo – object controller for 8 outputs 24 V DC
  • OCir – object controller for inputs with safe outputs (12 inputs, 2 outputs)
  • OCsi – object controller for signals (up to 8 lights OCled)
  • OCled – object controller for a signal light with LED lighting
  • OCcan – object controller for a connection with K-2002 and PNS-03
  • OCac – object controller for a detection point on axle counters
  • OCsw – object controllers for a switches
